| More Than 10 Percent of Cars Have Accident History |

 A recent study by auto shopping site CarGurus claims that roughly one in six (16 percent) of used cars listed for sale in the U.S. shows an accident history on record.
The study also shows that 8 percent of recent models (2009 -2011) had an accident incident on record.
The effect of an accident history on the market value of the vehicles studied was highly variable, resulting in values that were 3 percent to 12 percent lower than those of comparable cars without an accident history, according to CarGurus’ valuation models.
